So this weekend was a big weekend in my life for a few reasons...
#1) Got my board scores back on friday. Luckily I passes all of them ;). Usually how it goes with boards is the tests that you think you did bad on are the ones that you do ok on. And the ones you think you aced you do bad on. ( this is because the ones you think you do well on, everyone else does better then you on them, so you do worse on the curve. then the bad ones you do ok on because everyone did more worse than you) Did I lose anyone there? :)
#2) I ran my first marathon. (ok, I walked some but you get it) Here's the story...
We had to sleep in a hotel 20 minutes away due to every hotel in nashville which I thought was the marriott only to find out it was the ramada... it made me smile when I realized that but what can you do. :) We then had a rebecca free night. (we dished her off to the in-laws) I woke up around 4:30 am to wake myself up a little before running. (I can't just wake up and run like some people, I like to run in the afternoons so I had to wake a little earlier just to make sure my body was awake) Everyone else woke up around 5 and we left for the race around 5:30. It was raining when we left and it had t-storms forcasted for the morning so we weren't looking forward to that. Well when we got there it was lightly raining but while we were standing in line for the shuttle it started to POUR! To take the drama out, it only rained for the next 15 minutes then it was beautiful weather the whole rest of the day!
So we start the race after 30 minutes of getting hurded towards the starting line then we were off! Gary and I had one goal for the marathon and that was to FINISH. We didn't really know who was going to be hurting worse than the other so we promised each other that we were gonna finish together no matter what. We also had a run/walk plan for the marathon that way we wouldn't wear out too early. Well, we were doing great for the first 11 miles and in fact were only a few minutes behind rachel at that point but then gary got some really bad cramps so we had to start walking/running in between cramps. Luckily I know how to stretch out every muscle that was tight on him so it worked out. Anyway, around mile 20 we were both ready to call it good. Somehow we mustered up the last little strength we had and ran in the last half mile or so. We came in officially at 5:25. Thats a long exercise!!! :) Anyway, it was a really good experience and even though I am pretty sore today I am looking forward to my next one. But, I'm proud of gary and me since we were probably really undertrained and not ready but made it! At least if I never do one again I can say that I've ran one once in my life! I really hope everyone does one sometime in there life to push themselves to the limit! Next is a half-iron man, bring it baby! :)

Way to go Walter. I'm proud of you and Gary for finishing the race. I don't care if you didn't run the whole thing. Again, congrats.
You did a great job, Babe!
